Women Managing Women: Hierarchical Relationships and Career Impact.

Purpose – This study investigates the experiences of Saudi Arabian women managed by other women, focusing on how junior women perceive senior women's role in advancing their careers. Methodology – Qualitative data from in-depth interviews with women working in Saudi public sector results. Findings- The study uncovers complex hierarchical relationships between women and their female managers, influenced by sociocultural and organizational factors. These factors affect relationships between senior and junior women, emphasizing solidarity's role in career development. Support from senior women can be conditional, while the study identifies "Queen Bee" senior women hindering career advancement and excluding women from top roles. Contribution : 1. Scientific contribution to women's career advancement and exploration of the "Queen Bee" phenomenon. 2. Provision of organizational tools for fostering effective professional relationship-based organizational culture. 3. Recommendations to human resource departments for relevant appointment and hiring policies for women in leadership, accurate performance measurement, and career development programs. 4. Contribution to promoting women's representation in leadership roles aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and enhancing equality
